I created these custom instrumental guitar tracks to "Write-To."
In addition, I made a track-guide PDF which maps out each track so you know exactly which section of the song you're working on just by looking at the timeline. It's like having a co-writer to work with!

This is our very own corner of the internet dedicated to getting writers (poets, novelists, but mostly songwriters) out of writer's block! Here's a look at one of the apps on the webpage below.

Has pre-made chord progressions that loop
Plays a track with multiple instruments including drums looping the chord progression which can be a good alternative to keeping time rather than a metronome. None of these are great replacements for a real instrumental track, but they work for writing, and can help you communicate your songs to other musicians. - https://www.musicca.com/chord-player
Chord-Seq is a more advanced chord progression creator. Every time you choose a new chord it gives you the most likely options for the next chord based on some music theory rules. - https://chordseqai.com/app

Rhyming dictionary and thesaurus.
This one has been invaluable to me in my songwriting. Sometimes I'll find a rhyme that completely alters where the song goes, which can be super exciting. It also has a near-rhyme feature which mimics real life language better than other rhyme thesauruses or Chat GPT suggestions. This opens up a wide range of rhyming possibilities and connections
Have you ever played Connections on the New York Times App? This is an unlimited free version I found. If you're not aware, it gives you 16 words. The concept is to organize all the words into 4 groups of 4 words, with each group having a connection in some way. For instance, earth, wind, fire, and water would be grouped together (because they're elements). But it's possible that if there are also words like Pluto, Mars, and Jupiter, Earth, could also be grouped with those words as well. It can get tricky. So this is a fun way to practice keeping your mind open to connections you don't usually make.
